Markeaton Park

Markeaton, Derby DE22 4AA, UK – 01332 293111

A good place for the family orientated , spacious grounds a lot for the smaller children is here if accompanied by adults, e. g a small donkey ride ranch , canoes for the under 13 s , pitch and putt although a little dilapidated still worth a go at around the £2.20 mark .prices for rides are all kept to minimum . There is a lot to do for free here and enough to stretch a child's imagination beautiful secret gardens and an adventure action centre more suited to the braver soul available at a reasonable cost on the whole something for everyone. Parking is available for around 2 pounds for 2 hours + for longer periods.

A great place for a family day out. With a rowing lake, a miniature railway, a water park, a giant climbing structure as well as a smaller one in the kiddies playground, golf, cricket, tennis, plenty of room to kick a ball about, tea room, courtyard shops and probably more I've missed, pack a picnic and go for the day. Just one complaint, please please please do something about the parking....... It's such a popular place that on a hot day you will not be able to park, not enough spaces.

Great for a small local library

Mickleover Library

Holly End Rd, Derby DE3 0EA, UK – 01332 718926

Nice but small library .. helpful staff ... closed Wednesdays and sundays

Modern library, with a good range of books. Not as quiet as the library in the city centre.
